Berlin’s Mauerpark has always been an incredible place for creative talents. It’s also where Alice Phoebe Lou took her first steps towards becoming a professional musician. The South Africa-born singer came to Europe at the age of 18 to try to make it as an artist. She adopted Berlin as her new home in 2012, and has since released five critically acclaimed albums – each one of which was self-produced and released on her own label. The singer-songwriter needs this freedom to create her “downright meditative guitar pop” (Chrismon). Alice Phoebe Lou is all about refined indie folk that’s retro, timeless and forward-driving all at the same time. Profound and intense lyrics, performed by an exceptional voice – an unforgettable mixture.
