The London jazz crowd around artists such as Kamaal Williams have demonstrated that the combination of hip-hop beats, funk breaks and jazz can sound this cool. Berlin also has a young scene full of impressive talent. These include pianist and producer Moses Yoofee - at the age of just 24, he became the musical director for Peter Fox's band. The "cool boy of jazz" (Berliner Zeitung) accomplishes amazing things, especially with his own band. His trio with Noah Fürbringer (drums) and Roman Klobe (bass) will soon be releasing their debut album. About time: their concerts are becoming increasingly popular. No wonder the Moses Yoofee Trio has been nominated for a German Jazz Award as Live Act of the Year 2024.
